Si vous aimez les oeufs, c’est l’endroit parfait pour un brunch sur Paris! J’ai trouvé ce resto par hasard et je n’ai pas été déçue! Les serveurs sont sympa, le brunch est bon et l’endroit est plutôt petit mais mignon et chaleureux. Le brunch est environ à 25€ et comprend un jus d’orange, un café/thé/chocolat, les oeufs de votre choix accompagnés de pommes de terre et de salade et pour finir un énorme pancake et une petite salade de fruits. Croyez-moi, après tout ça vous ne risquez plus d’avoir faim! Perso, j’ai pris le Norvégien (oeufs Bénédicte au saumon) et c’était délicieux! J’y retournerais avec plaisir! Par contre, l’endroit est petit donc si vous venez à plus de 2, je vous conseille de venir tôt ou de réserver à l’avance. Dites-moi ce que vous en pensez si vous y aller ;)

If you love eggs, this is the perfect brunch spot for you! I randomly found this restaurant and what a great find! Friendly staff, good food and pretty/cozy interior. Brunch is around 25€ and includes orange juice, coffee/tea/chocolate, eggs of your choice with potatoes and salad on the side and a large pancake with a small fruit salad. Trust me, that’s a lot of food! I personally had the Norvegian which is eggs benedict with salmon and it was delicious. I will definitely be back! However, this place is pretty tiny so I recommend arriving early or make a reservation if you are more than 2 people. Let me know what you think if you eat there ;)

Paris Fashion Week: Elie Saab S/S14

 A LACE GARDEN

Gros coup de coeur pour le couturier Elie Saab avec sa collection Printemps/Eté 2014. Je crois que j’ai un faible pour les designers libanais ces derniers temps! J’ai toujours aimé le travail d’Elie et bien que cette collection soit quelque peu prévisible, elle n’en était pas moins magnifique. Les robes longues et courtes recouvertes de dentelle surmontée de fleurs étaient à couper le souffle. Et ce vert émeraude… sensationnel!

Pas sûr que l’on voit ces modèles courir les rues mais ils seront très certainement adoptés par un tas de célébrités sur le prochain tapis rouge. Et peut-être qu’un jour, une de ces robes finira dans ma penderie! Olala, on peut bien rêver! ;)

And the Spring/Summer 2014 Collection crush of the week goes to: Elie Saab. I think I have a crush for lebanese designers lately! I’ve always loved Elie’s work and even if this S/S14 Collection was pretty predictable it was still impeccable. I could not get enough of these short dresses and floor length gowns covered in flower patterned lace. And what about that stunning emerald green color.. fabulous!

Not sure where this collection will end up on the sidewalk but it will definitely be all over the next red carpet. And maybe one day, one of them will end up in my closet! A girl can dream! ;)

Paris Fashion Week: Maison Rabih Kayrouz S/S14

Dimanche, direction le Palais de Tokyo pour assister au défilé Printemps/Eté 2014 du couturier libanais Rabih Kayrouz. Une collection que j’ai trouvé sublime! Le couturier a présenté des pièces minimalistes, sans ornements ni imprimés. Sur le podium, des robes de soie asymétriques roses pâle et noires; des tricots blancs de coton damassé magnifiquement réalisés, embrassant les courbes du corps à la perfection. Une palette de couleur douce et fraiche qui nous donne déjà envie d’être au printemps prochain! Le maquillage se fait discret, les cheveux sont attachés en queue-de-cheval très basse et quelques fines mèches viennent adoucir le visage. Sur leurs ongles, les filles ont un vernis beige doré irisé, imported bubbly (essie), qui je trouve prolonge cette idée de simplicité, de légèreté et de pureté.

Sunday I went to Le Palais de Tokyo in Paris to see the Lebanese designer Rabih Kayrouz Spring/Summer 2014 Collection. And it was absolutely stunning! His collection was, in my opinion, very minimalistic with clothes free of any distractions such as embellishments or prints. On the runway, asymmetrical soft pink and black liquid silk gowns; exquisitely crafted white knitwear and corrugated sweaters hugging the curves of the body to perfection. A soft and fresh color palette that makes us wish Spring was already around the corner! The makeup was very natural and the hair was gathered into a low-slung ponytail with a few messy strands to soften the face. On their nails, the girls wore a sparkling golden beige polish, imported bubbly (essie), which I think fit perfectly the idea of simplicity, lightness and flawlessness.

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out 2013

What a disappointment this year! So for those of you who couldn’t attend (trust me, you didn’t miss anything!), new rules were established: in order to enter a participating boutique you have to have received an invitation for that specific store. So unless you previously bought something from the brand, are a pretty popular blogger or have friends with connexions, chances are you will not get in 70% of the stores at the Vogue Fashion’s Night Out (at least until very late). What’s the point? Not sure. If you are a client, why would you come on a crowded night to “preview” or buy anything when you can do it any other night? Wasn’t the VFNO supposed to bring new customers to stores? Quite difficult when you’re invited by none of them.

So as you know, to get in the rest of the boutiques you need a basic invitation usually found in the September issue of Vogue or GQ. I say usually because this year, most of the said magazines did NOT have the invitation inside! Why? A huge technical problem? Or an intentional decision to make a maximum profit with no ROI for the buyer? I’m still unsure.

But anyway, if you got lucky and got an invite inside one of these magazines, you also noticed that this year the invite was for 1 person only. Nope, your friend can’t tag along unless she/he buys a lucky magazine as well!

Regarding the event itself, there is not much that can be said. Mediocre happenings and no more than a handful of “personalities” showed up, including bloggers and Secret Story superstar wannabes. Oh, I forgot to mention that Emmanuelle Alt was there too. How fabulous..

Sure you can sip on a couple glasses of champagne but at the end of the day this event was far from what it used to be a few years ago avenue Montaigne where the crowd was excited, the boutiques were happily welcoming you and fashion peeps such as Karl Lagerfeld, JPG or Alexa Chung were casually hanging out! As different as night and day!

Quelle déception cette année! Pour ceux qui n’ont pas pu s’y rendre (croyez-moi, vous n’avez rien manqué!) de nouvelles règles ont été mises en place: afin de rentrer dans une boutique participante, il vous fallait une invitation spécifiquement envoyée par le magasin en question. Donc si vous n’êtes ni client, ni blogueur un peu connu ou que vous n’avez pas d’amis “connectés”, il y a peu de chance que vous ayez reçu de telles invitations et que vous puissiez entrer dans 70% des boutiques participant à la Vogue Fashion’s Night Out (sauf en toute fin de soirée..). Quel est l’intérêt me direz-vous? Je n’en suis pas sûre. Si vous êtes client de la marque, pourquoi viendriez-vous voir ou acheter quoi que ce soit en mode collé-sérré le soir de la VFNO ? La VFNO n’était-elle pas sensée inviter les gens à découvrir de nouvelles boutiques et donc apporter de nouveaux clients aux marques? Un peu difficile quand vous n’êtes pas invités par celles-ci.

Comme vous le savez, pour entrer dans le reste des boutiques, vous avez besoin d’une invitation basique qui se trouve normalement dans le Vogue ou le GQ de Septembre. Je dis normalement car cette année ces derniers ne possédaient pas tous une invitation à l’intérieur de leurs pages! Pourquoi? Un énorme problème technique? Ou une décision intentionnelle de faire un maximum de profits sans aucun retour sur investissement pour l’acheteur? Je n’ai malheureusement pas la réponse.

Pour les chanceux qui ont eu la dite invitation à l’intérieur de leur magasine, vous avez remarqué que celle-ci était cette année pour 1 personne seulement. Non, votre pote ne sera pas de la partie à moins qu’il/elle achète son propre magasine! (Que la chance soit avec lui/elle!)

Concernant l’événement, je n’ai pas vraiment grand chose à raconter. Les animations étaient globalement médiocres et seulement quelques “personnalités” étaient de la fête: quelques blogueuses et autres membres de Secret Story. Waouh. Ah pardon, j’oubliais Emmanuelle Alt. Double Waouh.

Bien sur vous pouviez boire quelques verres de champagne mais au final cette VFNO n’est plus du tout ce qu’elle était il y a quelques années avenue Montaigne où la foule était surexcitée, où les boutiques vous accueillaient chaleureusement et où des personnalités comme Karl Lagerfeld, JPG ou encore Alexa Chung étaient présentes. Bref, la nuit et le jour.

ROGER VIVIER – PALAIS DE TOKYO – OCT. 2 – NOV. 18

A retrospective paying tribute to the work and life of Roger Vivier will be staged in Paris this coming October at the Palais de Tokyo. The exhibit will be featuring about 140 of his shoe designs. I will definitely check it out! How cool would it be if they were selling a little Roger Vivier shoe like they do at the MET when there’s a fashion designer exhibit! It would complete my collection :)

Une rétrospective sera consacrée au travail et à la vie du célèbre chausseur Roger Vivier à Paris au Palais de Tokyo en Octobre prochain. L’exposition présentera près de 140 chaussures du designer. J’ai hâte de voir cette expo! Cela serait tellement sympa s’ils vendaient une petite chaussure Roger Vivier comme ils le font pour chaque expo mode au MET à New York! Elle compléterait ma collection :)

LADY GAGA – ARTPOP – AUG. 25

Lady Gaga makes her comeback to the spotlight in british designer Gareth Pugh! We already know her love for fashion and extravagant creations so I cannot wait to see what she has under her sleeve for her new album, called Artpop! Her album and first single Applause will be in stores August 25. Are you excited about it?

Lady Gaga est enfin de retour et elle le fera en Gareth Pugh! Nous connaissons déjà son amour pour la mode et les créations extravagantes qu’elle arbore; j’ai hâte de découvrir ce qu’elle nous réserve cette fois ci pour son nouvel album appelé Artpop! Celui-ci sortira accompagné de son premier single Applause, le 25 Aout prochain. Etes-vous aussi impatient que moi de le découvrir?

#CANDIDLYNICOLE – AOL INTERNET SERIES

You probably already heard of it or even already watched an episode or two but I had to talk about it on the blog for those of you who don’t know it yet! Nicole Richie, in partnership with AOL, is bringing her humor and unique style in a short web series based on her twitter feed. The show is 5min long and shares Nicole’s perspective on fashion, life, parenting and relationship and we love it! Click here to start watching and let me know what you think! Vous en avez probablement déjà entendu parlé ou même déjà regardé quelques épisodes, mais il était impératif d’en parler sur le blog pour ceux qui ne l’ont pas encore vu!
