Essie, an adore-a-ball french affair

Last Wednesday, I went to the essie press conference and I am beyond delighted to tell you all about it! It took place in a stunning house which was previously owned by the famous painter Hans Hartung.

Essie Weingarten, who founded essie cosmetics in New York City in 1981, was there to talk about her brand and what inspires her. She is a very eloquent orator and a stunning woman who is very passionate about colors, women and even more about life.

The big news for all of my french dolls is that essie will be sold at Monoprix starting this October. A palette of 90 colors will be available and to stay up-to-the-minute with color trends around the world, 4 exclusive color collections will be released throughout the year (1 every season)!

Essie nail polishes will however be a bit different from the one you already know. Indeed, the formula has been changed to fit french women’s needs. It is thicker so only 1 layer of color will be needed for your manicure (with the US formula  it is necessary to apply 2 layers of colors to obtain a good result). American women are usually using a base and a top coat when french women are not really applying any of them!
The brush has also been changed: it is now wider for, as they say, an easier application.

Essie will also be launching 14 nail treatments for all kinds of nails. One of my favorite is the Fortifying nail mask! As you would apply a mask to your hair, you put it on your nails, leave it for 5 to 10min (the longer the better) and voilà!

Essie nail polishes will be sold around 11.90€ and nail treatments around 13.00€. Not bad when you look at the price of an OPI nail polish at Sephora (13.00€!).

Your hands make such a statement about who you want to be Essie says.

Every essie-girl has a favorite shade! What is YOURS?

    • I’m sure you will very soon!! If they are not available just yet, you will be able to order them online as well I think (shipping costs will be less expensive from France than from the US!!) xx

  1. Aw that looks like such a fun event! I am obsessed with Essie! I am currently wearing “Cute as a Button” with a sparkly gold layer over it on just my ring finger. I absolutely love it, and love it more and more each day :). Great post
