I’ve been more into lipsticks than usual lately. So I wanted to show you a few of my current favorite ones! I wear the MAC pure zen with the Jasmine Honey Lipglass on top; I find it to be the perfect nude for my skin tone. The color elixir ones by Maybelline NY are absolutely gorgeous and surprisingly very confortable! I usually do not really like lip glosses because they are too sticky and my hair always get caught in it for some reason…! But these are amazing! I want all of them! :)

What are you favorite lipsticks of the moment?

Je porte pas mal de rouge à lèvres en ce moment, ce qui n’est pas dans mon habitude. Je voulais donc vous montrez certains de mes produits préférés! Je porte le MAC pure zen avec par dessus le gloss Jasmine Honey; c’est pour moi la combinaison “nude” parfaite! En ce qui concerne le color elixir de chez Maybelline, jaime toutes les couleurs! Mais ce que j’apprécie le plus, c’est qu’ils ne collent pas! Si je n’aime pas trop les gloss en géneral c’est essentiellement car je déteste avoir les lèvres collantes et que mes cheveux se prennent dedans..! Ceux la sont par contre vraiment pas mal :)

How to Wear a Dark Lip

MAC COSMETICS – LIPSTICK: MEDIA, LIP LINER: CURRANT

As I’ve told you here, I have been wanting to try a dark lip since the beginning of Fall. And I found the perfect shade at MAC. I find the lipstick to be hydrating and it stays on my lips for a pretty decent time. However, a dark lip needs to be checked way more often than any other lighter lipsticks. You don’t want to end up with lipstick all over your teeth or an uneven application after you had your first sip of coffee! I also have a few tips for those of you who want to try a dark lip for the first time:

 Scrub (this product is great) and moisturize your lips before any application
 When you apply your foundation, make sure to apply it on your lips as well
 Contour your lips with a lip liner (try to find the closest shade to your lipstick)
 To make your lipstick last longer, fill in your lips with the liner as well
 Apply your dark lipstick then pop your index finger in your mouth, pull it out and all excess product will be on your finger instead of your teeth!
 To refine the edges, use a small flat brush and with a bit of foundation/concealer, contour your lips

Comme je vous l’avais dit ici, j’ai envie d’essayer un rouge à lèvres plus foncé depuis le début de l’Automne et j’ai finalement trouvé la teinte parfaite chez MAC. Pour info, je le trouve plutôt hydratant et il tient assez longtemps sur mes lèvres. Cependant, les teintes plus foncées ont besoin de beaucoup plus d’attention que celles plus claires. En effet, je doute que vous vouliez vous retrouver avec du rouge à lèvres sur les dents ou une application douteuse après votre première gorgée de café! C’est du boulot d’être belle! ^^ Voici quelques astuces pour celles qui veulent essayer un rouge à lèvres foncé pour la première fois:

 Exfolier (ce produit est top) et hydrater vos lèvres avant toute application
 Lorsque vous appliquez votre fond de teint/BB, appliquez le également sur vos lèvres
 Dessiner le contour des lèvres avec le crayon (teinte la plus proche possible du rouge à lèvres)
 Afin de faire tenir votre rouge à lèvres plus longtemps, remplissez vos lèvres avec le crayon
 Appliquer le rouge à lèvres puis mettez votre index dans votre bouche, sortez-le et voilà! L’excès de produit est maintenant sur votre doigt au lieu de vos dents!
 Afin de perfectionner le tout, à l’aide d’un petit pinceau plat, appliquez délicatement du fond de teint/correcteur tout autour de vos lèvres pour les rendre plus nettes

Michael Kors Launches Beauty Collection!

The designer is launching a beauty line this summer (August 2013) that will consist of 3 different collections: Sexy, Sporty and Glam, including lip lacquers, bronzers, after-sun creams, and even self-tanners.

According to WWD, the collection will be available in a year-long exclusive with Macy’s in the US, and at Michael Kors stores worldwide.

Khroma by The Kardashians

Admit it, you are a little bit curious about the new Kardashian sisters makeup line, Khroma Beauty! The trio already have a line of OPI nail polishes as well as a  Kardashian Kollection of clothing and accessories sold exclusively at Sears, but apparently it wasn’t enough!

The collection features a full range of products (mascara, foundation, liners, eyeshadow, lipsticks, gloss, highlighter, false lashes and more) at affordable prices (all of the products are priced at $20 and under) so you can afford to buy a few!

I am actually interested in trying the “nude” lip duo (picture below)!

Oh and also, after facing trademark infringement allegations in 2012 for their Khroma Beauty line, the Kardashian sisters have been hit with a lawsuit! Makeup artist Lee Tillett is seeking $10 million in damages from the Kardashian sisters and Boldface Licensing + Branding, the company that owns Khroma Beauty’s license, for swiping the name of her cosmetics line, Kroma, and adding an extra “h.”

Khroma is now available in the US at Sears, CVS and Ulta and in Europe, here.

Beauty Report – Lush BubbleGum Lip Scrub

Pucker up!

I bought this product a week ago. I was just wandering around the LUSH store with Manue (Bubbles and Fashion) when I saw this little bright pink jar. This product seemed perfect for me! I don’t really wear lipstick because my lips are often chapped and never really look soft and smooth (bummer!). I have millions of lipsticks at home but never really wear them because of that reason. No more toothbrush scrubbing, let’s try this LUSH BubbleGum Lip Scrub!

RESULTS:
The sugar is very fine, which is perfect for me as my skin is really sensitive. As I rubbed the product into my lips I definitely got the feeling it was sweeping away the dead skin without being too rough. And guess what! Once you are done scrubbing, you can either remove it with a tissue or warm water or you can simply lick it! It tastes like strawberry and it’s totally edible! :)

So after only one application of the LUSH BubbleGum lip scrub, my lips felt as soft as a baby’s butt! lol My personal tip is to always apply a generous layer of chapstick to nourish my lips afterwards.

WHAT I LIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
It is 100% vegan, smells delicious and is edible!
A small amount of product goes a long way
Perfect for sensitive skin

WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THE PRODUCT:
It is a bit expensive for such a little jar ($9.95/9.45e). Let’s see how long it lasts!

OVERALL RATING: A+

Kate for Kérastase

Top model and fashion icon Kate Moss has just been signed as the face of a new Kérastase hair styling range called Kérastase Couture Styling Range launching end of May 2013. This isn’t Moss’ first appearance into the beauty world: she has been doing Rimmel and Dior campaigns since 2002 and also has her own line of lipsticks since 2012.

What do you think of Kate Moss as the new face of Kérastase?
