Alexander McQueen Fall 2012 – Backstage at Paris Fashion Week
“A beautiful, ethereal woman” is how the manicurist described the girls with fingernails painted soft white, toenails sheer pink or beige. “A pure girl, almost like a statue,” was how Peter Philips imagined the models at McQueen.
Guido Palau had the difficult task of sourcing 36 wigs in a platinum blond, with four in gray to go with the pink looks. The wigs were fitted with identical hairlines and cuts to “take the personality away,” according to Guido.
The idea was to contrast the beautiful super-romantic clothes with a futuristic hairstyle.
