Tom Ford calls her “one of the — if not the — most stylish women living.”
The Alexander McQueen Savage Beauty exhibit will be coming to a close very soon, but his designs will again be on view when the Daphne Guinness exhibit opens on Sept. 16, 2011 until January 7, 2012 at New York’s FIT Museum (Fashion Institute of Technology — 227 West 27th Street, New York).
This exhibit, which Daphne Guinness co-curated with Valerie Steele, Director and Chief Curator of The Museum at FIT, showcases over 100 garments and accessories from Daphne Guinness’s personal collection, but also films and images of and by her.
She describes herself “not [as] a muse,” but more like “a bee,” going from one designer to another — which explains the wide selection of McQueen, Tom Ford, Dolce & Gabbana, Alaia, Gareth Pugh, Rick Owens ; couture from Chanel, Dior, Lacroix, Valentino, and Givenchy, and also clothes Daphne designed herself, that will be on display.
The exhibition will also include the vertiginous platform shoes custom-made for her by Christian Louboutin and Noritaka Tatehana!
“It’s likely to be the best thing to happen in New York since the Met’s McQueen exhibit,” says the NY magazine.
