We all know that Kanye West is a huge lover of all things fashion so it comes as no surprise that he will launch his fashion line this fall! He has made Paris his home in an attempt to launch a career in fashion.
Louise Wilson, a professor at London Fashion College Central St. Martins, has confirmed that Kanye West is working on a womenswear label with British designer and CSM graduate Louise Goldin.
Louise Goldin is a former student of Wilson’s, and supposedly a very promising one. Wilson went on to tell the Guardian that she thinks the Goldin-Kanye collaboration could actually be quite good.
I think we can expect a well-considered collection, you wouldn’t expect less from a pair of professionals and I warn against dismissing it in haste. There are those who might assume Louise will be doing all the work and Kanye is just the face, I don’t believe this will be the case – he researches thoroughly and is hands on and committed to his work.
His new label is expected to be a luxury, predominantly womenswear label. Louise Goldin’s distinctive prints, strong use of colour and futuristic constructions could marry well with Kanye West’s appreciation for graphic, bold design.
Apparently ‘Ye is aiming to have the collection ready to hit the runway in September for New York Fashion Week.
